As students across the country resume for a new academic session, the Business Matters Incubators – Catch Them Young Initiative (BMI-CTY) has extended a warm welcome to students and teachers, expressing optimism about the future of education in Nigeria.

The founder of the initiative, Nnamdi Felix Unachukwu, an engineer acknowledged the significant allocation of N3.52 trillion to education sector in the 2025 budget, describing it as a step towards revitalizing the sector.

In a statement signed by Unachukwu, he expressed confidence that the increased funding would pave the way for a more functional and dynamic education system.

He emphasized the need for the Ministry of Education to implement a new curriculum that prioritizes skill acquisition and entrepreneurship education.

According to him, these competencies are essential in empowering students to become job creators, thereby fostering economic growth and reducing unemployment and poverty.

Unachukwu called on the Minister of Education and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to focus on integrating entrepreneurship education into the national curriculum.

He explained that such an initiative would provide young Nigerians with the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to thrive in an increasingly complex and competitive world.

A significant milestone in this regard, he stated, is the approval of BMI-CTY’s entrepreneurship education books by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC). This endorsement, he explained, would ensure that students have access to structured and practical learning materials that would enhance their entrepreneurial skills and increase their chances of success in business and innovation.

Beyond advocating for policy reforms, Unachukwu reiterated his commitment to supporting students, teachers, and the broader education community.

He stressed that BMI-CTY remains dedicated to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship, innovation, and excellence. By equipping young minds with essential business knowledge, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between formal education and real-world economic opportunities.

With sustained efforts from both government and private stakeholders, Unachukwu believes that Nigeria’s education system can evolve to produce a new generation of self-reliant, innovative, and economically empowered youth.

BMI-CTY is designed to groom young entrepreneurs, providing them with the skills, mindset, and resources needed for success in today’s dynamic business environment.
