Youths put their entrepreneurial skills to work at 23rd annual BizCamp Marketplace
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – On Thursday, June 13, the Inner City Entrepreneur Institute held its 23rd annual BizCamp at a Mall St. Vincent.
The James K. Elrod BizCamp Marketplace is an entrepreneurship education and life skills training program for at-risk middle and high school students. The students learn to create a business idea, learn financial literacy, and develop a business plan. They’re also given a small investment to start their first business by buying products from a local warehouse for resale.
The community was invited to come out and support the students by shopping and purchasing their items from 12 p.m.-4 p.m. at Mall St. Vincent.
